Believing that their skill-set is enough to get the job done, many employees assume that they do not need training programs and find them irrelevant to their needs and career. As a manager, you should let your employees know how these courses will benefit them as well as the organization.
3. Fear of change
One of the most common reasons why employees resist training is reluctance of change. To be honest, most people are afraid of changes. Though continuing with the past ways of doing jobs will guarantee security, management team should spread awareness for changes. They come with enhancement and updated process which will only beneficial in the long run.
4. Bad communication
Once managers fail to communicate the main reason conducting employee learning programs, this makes employees lose interest in the learning program itself. Conduct a proper communication strategy in place before you spread out the news.
5. Fear of losing control
Most top performers are interested in programs where they can be in control. To emerge into an environment which is full of continuous challenges and updated professional knowledge, could be intimidating. To ensure they are comfortable with this experience, give them a catalogue and let them choose the time and date of class that works with their schedule.
